The nature of the emotional engagement may be <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">positive<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">negative<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, or <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">neutral<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Codes<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>POSITIVE AFFECT<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>General: <\/b>Positive emotional engagement is defined as a positive expression towards the experience. In practice, we found that the neutrality of certain vocalizations was a bit ambiguous, so we provide some clarifying points below.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 19\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>There may be energy in a neutral statement even if there is not emotion (e.g. \u201cLook at that!\u201d said with energy is not necessarily positive or negative).
